Sometimes, it's what you don't do that's important. Grown without the use of synthetic pesticides or herbicides, Certified Organic farming practices safeguard our water supply and our soil. The elimination of genetically modified organisms (GMO) in Certified Organic farming ensures that biodiversity and crop integrity will be preserved for generations to come. Preservatives and additives used to artificially extend the shelf life of conventional products are prohibited in Certified Organic products. Irradiation of raw materials and produce is also prohibited in Certified Organic products-preserving vitamins, minerals and whole plant nutrients.

What Is Organic Farming? - Definition From USDA (1980)
Organic farming is a production system which avoids the use of synthetically compounded fertilizers, pesticides, growth regulators and livestock feed additives. To the maximum extent feasible, organic farming systems rely on crop rotations, crop residues, animal manures, legumes, green manures, off the farm organic wastes, mechanical cultivation, mineral-bearing rocks and aspects of biological pest control to maintain soil productivity and tilth, to supply plant nutrients, and to control insects, weeds and other pests.
